by Albert Camus
Again two words for a Camus novel: brilliantly written. I admit I wasn’t that caught by the story – except for the first part when the rats die and the doctor opens the plague bumps. It caused my physical uneasiness. I am just fascinated by his writing style: short and very precise. That alone is enough for me. I am not interested in the philosophical interpretations and which parts of Camus’ philosophy form part of this novel. It is more the description how different types of people react in the face of the catastrophe.
