by Péter Esterházy
Esterházy discovers that his beloved father was agent for the secret service in Communist Hungary. Two days after the release of his appraised book Celestial Harmonies where he set his father a monument. His shock, his shame and the process to read the dossiers are documented in Revised Edition which is the English name of this book in question. He weaves fragments of the dossiers with its own instant feelings and with snippets from Celestial Harmonies. It is sometimes painful to read. For me it is the best book which deals with this moral dilemma of these “agents” and how the society treats the issue.
